About the event
On a not so winter yet beautiful afternoon, surrounded by the gentle sway of trees and the hush of waking leaves, we gathered with books in our hands and stories in our hearts. It was a quiet rebellion, against noise, haste, and distraction.
Inspired by beautiful collectives like JuhuReads (hyperlink), who come together weekly to lose themselves in the magic of words, we decided to create our own haven of silence and stillness at Van Vihar Garden, Borivali West. There was no plan, no performance, just the simple act of sitting side by side, each immersed in our own book, yet sharing something profoundly collective.
This first quiet experiment blossomed with time. The calm of those afternoons lingered and whispered to us until it found a rhythm, a name, and a home, Offline Hours.(can also be hyperlinked)
Now, every Saturday evening, as golden light filters through the canopy and birds return to their nests, Offline Hours brings people together once again, to read, to breathe, to be without any agenda. In the heart of Van Vihar, silence has become sacred, and the act of reading, a form of togetherness.
